Memorial Day Weekend

We had a pretty low-key holiday weekend. On Saturday, Julie and I were both free from work so we headed out to the Meadowood Regional Park just north of Baltimore. Aiden enjoyed the swings, but he probably is a little young to fully appreciate the park. We did take a long walk on the trail and tried to dodge the fledgling bike riders. Sunday and Monday, I had babysitting duty while Julie ran an experiment. Aiden is exhausting right now and seems to have unlimited energy. He is refusing naps right now and therefore depriving me of much needed naps too. Nevertheless, we had a good time together and enjoyed the weather which has now reached the 80's. On Monday, we met Julie for lunch at a local Catonsville favorite Chef Paulino's Cafe. We were also able to find a little time to get Aiden into the kiddie pool for the first time. He loves bath time so much it was no surprise he took to the pool immediately. Check out the pics below (click on any one to take you to the full album).

A new doctor in the family

Last weekend we loaded up the car and headed down to Norfolk, Va to attend Paula's graduation ceremony. She recently completed a Doctor of Psychology degree at the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology. It was a very pleasant weekend and the first time that Aiden had been down to Grandma and Grandpa Markham's house. Aiden also got to visit with his great aunts, Elaine and Andrea, and Great Grandma Turner. I have included a video below of Paula's hooding at the Norfolk State convocation. Notice that Psychologists have the longest dissertation titles in the world. The ceremony was followed by a reception where we were able to meet some of Paula's professors and colleagues. After a much needed nap, we took Paula out to celebrate at Lynnhaven Fish house(I highly recommend this restaurant if you happen to be in the neighborhood).
