Grandma and Grandpa Orr visit

We had a nice visit from my parents last week. Unfortunately, Julie and I had to work which limited our time, but fortunately they were able to spend a lot of quality time with Aiden. As an added bonus, it just happened that the little girl in our nanny share was diagnosed with chickenpox, so it looks like we dodged that bullet. It was an action packed week for everyone. Julie and I accompanied everyone to the National Aquarium and lunch at the harbor on Sunday. Aiden, Mom, and Dad some how found time to visit the Maryland Science Center, Storyville at the Rosedale library, and the neighborhood playground. It has been awhile since they have seen him, so they were treated with his new mobility and new vocabulary. With all the activity he was averaging 3 hour naps everyday. Anyway, check out the pics below.

Cirque du Soleil

Julie and I were able to enjoy a rare night out on the town last weekend. One of the grad students from Julie's lab agreed to babysit and we headed out with our friends Tara and Phil Vong for dinner and the Cirques du Solei show which has recently come to Baltimore. We headed out to the federal hill area and had great dinner at The Bicyle, an old townhouse that was converted to a bistro. Next we headed to the Cirques du Solei show "Kooza". The show was set up in a big tent outside MT and T stadium. It was a amazing show mixed with acrobatics, contortionists, music, and comedy. We had a great time, and I especially surprised how funny it was.

Tracie's Baby Shower

Last weekend, we piled in the car and headed down to Norfolk for Tracie's baby shower. While Julie and the ladies celebrated, I went with my father in law and Julie's brothers paintballing. It was my first time, and I am left with quite a few welts, but overall it was a great time. Aiden is at a fun age (19 months) and is really starting to talk a lot. Anwyay, check out the pics below. There is a collection of pics from the shower followed by some before and after paintball pictures.

B and O railroad museum

We took Aiden to see the B and O railroad museum in southwest Baltimore this weekend. It is supposedly the birthplace of the American rail system, and is comprised of 40 acres of old rail cars and railroad artifacts. The museum has affiliation with Smithsonian Institute and stands on a location that has had active rail lines for approximately 130 years. We really didn't know what to expect, but had a free pass for the month of February. Aiden really seemed to enjoy the trip. He was running around between the trains shouting "Choo Choo!" and then pumping his arm up and down yelling "Woo Woo!". We were able to catch it a few times in the photos (below).
